Porto Baleias is a proposed New Urbanist resort community located within the municipality of Paulo Lopes, Santa Catarina, Brazil. It is currently a cattle farm abutting a local highway of approximately 900 hectares with nearly 2,600 meters of ocean front. The area is best known for its beautiful beaches, surfing opportunities, and proximity to whale watching. Porto Baleias is also one of the last sites of this size abutting the ocean and a preservation area within the Santa Catarina state. To be developed, the area is subject to the highest environmental regulations and standards.
